New Betrayer Album

Betrayer is excited to announce that they are currently recording their new full length album titled AGES OF DEFIANCE. 9 tracks are fully written and the album is expected to be recorded, mixed and mastered by the end of October, 2009. No release date has been announced at this time.

The album is currently being recorded at SPECTRE SOUND STUDIOS by engineer Glenn Fricker, who has worked previously with such acts as RANDY BLYTHE of LAMB OF GOD, WOODS OF YPRES, BLOODSHOTEYE and BLACK KREEK.

Shawn Bastien went into the studio on July 20th, 2009 to start laying down the drum tracks. Everything is sounding great so far and Shawn was able to wrap up the drums completely on July 25th, 2009. Jeff Klingbeil is set to record the Rhythm Guitars on August 1st, 2009.

The album will be Mixed and Mastered by renowned musical producer FREDRIK NORDSTR�M from DREAM EVIL, whose credits include ARCH ENEMY, OPETH, DIMMU BORGIR, DREAM EVIL, HAMMERFALL, THE HAUNTED and IN FLAMES.

Betrayer is pleased to announce the public release of the new single. The new track is now available to be downloaded for FREE on the Official Betrayer Website at www.betrayer.ca! Please send us your comments and feedback through our message board.

The new track, entitled 'Headed for Disaster', was co-written between BETRAYER and long-time songwriter, performer, and now operator of the Canadian Conservatory of Music, Pete Palazzolo (ex-TANZEN, SOLDIER, currently with ROSE CITY OVERTURE).

Ontario 3-Day Metalfest

Betrayer will be performing at the first ever ALL AGES MQMusicfest at Trudeau Park, Ontario on Saturday, July 8th, 2006 courtesy of Metal Queen Management.

Betrayer will be on STAGE M from 8:00pm to 8:40pm!

MQMusicfest will run July 7th, 8th and 9th. There will be 40+ bands and 2 stages. MQMusicfest is shaping up to be the first of its kind in this country, three days straight of Hard Rock/Metal chaos at Trudeau Park, two hours east of Toronto, two hours west of Montreal, one hour from Ottawa. The play list includes most of the MQM roster; Betrayer, Shatterpoint, Warmachine, Endorphins, Valkyries Cry, I Hate Sally, Little Sunday, Rehab For Quitters, along with some surprise guests.

MQMs president, Betty Dworatschek, says "the majority of the acts will be homegrown Canadians largely from Ontario and Quebec. That's what this is all about: the Canadian scene, our Canadian talent. Radio Airplay Begins

As previously announced Betrayer will be working with Howard Rosen Promotion Inc from California to promote songs from the 'Shadowed Force' album on over 350 radio stations throughout Canada and the United States.

The radio campaign starts today, January 23rd, and will last for a minimum of 6 weeks. Later this week we will post a list of stations that are currently playing our tracks and different ways fans can request songs. If you hear Betrayer on a station please send us a quick message by email, message board, guestbook or street team.

Howard has over 35 years in the music industry and held top positions at Casablanca Records, Elektra, Warner Bros. and A&M Records. He is responsible for breaking such acts as; Kiss, Donna Summer, Parliament and many others. He has also worked with many other acts which include; The Doors, Van Halen, Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins and Aerosmith.

Betrayer will be able to be heard daily on stations across the continent. Many of Howard's artists have been placed in to regular rotation long after the campaign period, so we want to urge our fans and street team members to do what they can and request our songs or call in when you hear them.

All Ages w/The Black Maria

Betrayer will be opening up for The Black Maria (Victory Records) in an ALL AGES show at the Chubby Pickle in Windsor, Ontario on Sunday, January 22nd, 2006. Doors open at 5:00pm and tickets are $12. For Windsor residents this is definitely a show you want to check out. Seven hours of live music at a low price of $12 is a great value, hope to see you all there.

Mobile Website/Ringtone

We would like to announce that we have launched the initial version of our Mobile Website. To access the Mobile Website simply go to wap.betrayer.ca from any mobile device with an internet browser (i.e. cell phone, blackberry, PDA, etc). Charges might be applicable depending on your service provider, so please consult them first.

Currently the only available sections are the band's biography, contact information and a section to download ringtones. We will be adding more sections as time goes on and we are open to any suggestions.

Through the 'Download Ringtones' section we have a MIDI/Ringtone available for the song 'Burden of the Pacifist' from Betrayer's recent Shadowed Force EP.

If anyone has any difficulties accessing or using this ringtone please let us know. Ringtones are somewhat new to us, so we are sure there might be problems. When inqurying about problems please include your cell phone model, name of your service provider and what the error is.

October 2005 Update

Greetings, we wanted to send out an update on some things we have been working on over the last few months and things we are planning in the near future. We haven't completely confirmed everything yet, but we felt that we would share it with you anyhow.

For starters we wanted to thank everyone who has come out to the last number of shows. The crowds have been amazing, the sound has been top notch and all the bands we have played with were great. These have been some extremely memorable shows and we have met a lot of great people and new fans.

We are pleased to announce that we were able to break even on our entire production budget from the 'Shadowed Force' EP after a couple months of its release. The profits from this EP have allowed us to start investing in other ventures that will not only help benefit the band but the fans also. We want to thank everyone for their support and for helping make these things a reality.

A professional music video for the song 'Shadowed Force' is currently in its early stages of development. Once we have completed the initial concept and enter an agreement with the production company we will announce all the details. The finished music video will be submitted to Much Loud, MTV, Headbangers Ball and many European and South American stations. The video will also be available for download on our site.

Last month we received an offer from a well respected radio promotion and management company from California to promote 'Shadowed Force' on 300+ radio stations across North America. This company has a 30+ year history in the music industry and is responsible for breaking a number of major metal acts, along with dozens of other major acts. Given their track record and the offer we received this looks like a promising opportunity and we are looking forward to working with them. We are currently looking at ways to get the street team involved with this, so for anyone who is interested please contact us through your street team account and let us know what metal stations you listen to in your area.

The new street team contests we launched last month have been met with great success. Congratulations to Mike Eisener, Brad Webster and Nikk Coombs for winning the first set. Over the last few years we have given out over $1,000 worth of merchandise through competitions and we plan to give even more as time goes on.

Lastly, I've been fortunate enough to hear a number of songs in their early stage from Betrayer's upcoming full length album. These songs are sounding amazing and I am looking forward to hearing the finished product. Hopefully production will begin early 2006, but we will have to see how the writing progresses.
